Cigars smokers know that cigars are a very different class of tobacco products and are one of the best to enjoy the timeless taste of tobacco. Cigars are so moved and cherished among people because they use some of the best and aged tobacco leaves that intensify the flavor of tobacco at any time. However, if you are a tobacco lover, then you might have come across many myths about tobacco, that you must have heard from your friend or from a common smoking crowd. Today we will have a look at some of those popular myths and check if they are really true.
Cigars are rolled on women’s thigh
Yes, this is one of the most popular myths about cigars and one that has been circulated around for years. Actually cigars have been around for hundreds of years and they were so premium and expensive that they were thought to be rolled over the thighs of virgin women. No matter what people think about it, the myth is actually false. You can never roll a cigar straight on a woman’s thigh, but still, you can imagine it if you like. Since cigars need precision while rolling, it is done on a straight table to make sure that they have a proper shape.
Cuban cigar is the best
Cigars from Cuba have always had a position among the top-ranked cigars in the world and that is due to a reason. Cuban tobacco has a uniquely strong and aromatic taste that makes it among the best in the world. But is it “the best” among all cigars is the question no one has a definite answer to. The answer would depend on a human to human as it is based on personal preference and taste. When it comes to construction and consistency, on which the cigar is measured, the Cuban cigar fails badly, but it does excel on the taste it provides. So in the end, if you like it better than the rest of the cigars, it might be the best one for you.
Store the cigars in a refrigerator
Cigars are made out of tobacco leaves that would react differently in different kinds of temperatures. Therefore, keeping it in the refrigerator would never guarantee the long life of a cigar. The cigar should only be kept in a humidor to maintain the moisture level and temperature so that the cigar does not get too moist or too dry. Therefore, the myth is totally false and you should not keep the cigar in the refrigerator, no matter what kind of cigars or domestic cigars you are going to buy. It would be much better to buy a humidor.
You should warm up the cigars before smoking it
This is another one of those myths that are very common among cigar smokers. You would find many of them passing the whole cigar through flame quickly to warm it up. As per them, it would release the oil from the leaves making it much better to smoke. The myth is false and one simply needs to keep it at 70 degrees Fahrenheit to make sure the flavor profile of the cigars stays the same, no matter when you use it. In fact, warming the cigar could actually burn the tobacco leaves, leaving a bitter taste when you smoke it.
